Sweat chloride test

Sweat chloride test

Share

Link copied

The sweat chloride test is the first line test for diagnosing cystic fibrosis. The results may be abnormal (diagnosis of CF), normal (CF very unlikely) or intermediate (possible CF, needing further testing). In young babies the intermediate range is very broad, because the sweat glands are still developing.
