Amniocentesis fluid shows bilirubin
Bilirubin is a breakdown pigment found in the amniotic fluid when red blood cells are present. These cells could be maternal or fetal. A maternal-fetal medicine specialist can help to figure things out, so ask your OB if a referral is needed.
