Thickened fingers or toes (sclerodactyly)
Sclerodactyly is a symptom in which a person's fingers have skin that becomes firm and shiny, eventually tightening and pulling the fingers into a contracted position. Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease (one's own immune system is not working properly) that causes sclerodactyly.
