Shortness of breath is an unpleasant sensation whereby the patient feels they are not getting enough air. It can be mild, moderate or severe. When mild, the patient has no shortness of breath at rest but experiences the shortness of breath with increased activity. This patient has no difficulties with activities of daily living, like getting dressed. Shortness of breath should always be evaluated.
