Menstrual period?: If asking about menstrual periods, the answer would be no, periods do not cause breathing symptoms. If one is asking whether or not some women sense changes in the amount of muscle effort used to breathe during different parts of their menstrual cycle... hmmm... if any such changes, if due to hormonal fluctuations, they should be quite subtle. If worried, one's primary care doctor can evaluate.

Menstrual ptx: Sometimes a collapsed lung may be associated with menstrual cycle hormones changes, but generally your shortness of breath may be caused by a number of factors, including asthma. Please see your PCP for pulmonary function tests and evaluation.
