Ultrasound to evaluate twins

Ultrasound to evaluate twins

This imaging study is ordered by the doctor to have an idea of the fetus's anatomy, size, gestational age, position of the placenta, amount of amniotic fluid and overall well-being. In the case of twins, you can also compare their sizes and growth. Assessing two babies in utero by ultrasound can be more technically difficult than assessing one because one twin can hide parts of the other.
