Luteinizing hormone
Luteinizing hormone is a hormone produced by anterior pituitary gonadotroph cells. In males lh stimulates leydig cell production of testosterone. In females, a surge of lh triggers ovulation and development of the corpus luteum. Ovulation prediction kits tend to use lh as an indicator of impending ovulation.
