Transient ischemic attack
Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is medical condition in which the brain is temporarily deprived of oxygen. The insult, however, did not last long enough to produce lasting damage as a stroke does. In a TIA, the stroke-like symptoms (difficulty talking, one-sided paralysis, etc.) last only for a few hours.
