Using aldara (imiquimod) for genitalwarts, given by my doctor. i use it in anus. any dangerous side effects ? i have flu like symptoms. is aldara (imiquimod) creme safe ? :-)

Flu symptoms: Aldara (imiquimod) enhances your immune system to attack hpv and warts in the applied area. However, your body reacts feeling like you're coming down with the flu. Take some Acetaminophen and you should feel better.

HPV : You can always transmit the virus. Not as likely with active lesions and negative paps though
