A member asked:

If i've been diagnosed with pid can i get pregnant if i have had sex before or after my diagnosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but some risk: Pelvic inflammatory disease or pid is an infection that involves the fallopian tubes. While it does not absolutely prevent pregnancy, it can impede the movement of a fertilized egg into the uterus and increase the risk of an ectopic pregnancy. Even when treated properly damage to a tube can occur. If left untreated or when infection is recurrant damage from scaring can render the tube useless.
