A member asked:

I usually get cold sores on the outside of my mouth. usual clustered blister and they crust and fall off until healed. only recently i'm getting lots of gum& throat canker sores. i never had herpes there.is it true canker sores can be herpes simplex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No. Your canker sores are from stress, diet, possible trauma to area, and an acid build up in saliva from high sugary foods and liquids. Canker sores are treatable with OTC medications.
