How do you get diagnosed for pelvic inflammatory disease? how is it treated? i have had yellow white vaginal discharge since getting my iud removed in march. i had it for a week and it shifted and embedded in uterus. flagyl and amox not working?

There are no specific diagnostic criteria for PID; it's based primarily on symptoms plus the doctor's evaluation by pelvic exam, sometimes supplement with pelvic ultrasound or other imaging. Your current antibiotics would effectively treat most cases, but doxycycline (with metronidazole) is preferred over amoxicillin. PID risk depends a lot on STD risk. Discuss w/ your docctor.
