A member asked:

If i have the hpv vaccine does it protect me against oral hpv? does oral hpv cause a dry cough? if someone has oral hpv is there anything a dr can do to get rid of it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The HPV vaccine provides a degree of protection from acquiring any of the strains contained in the vaccine, no matter how a person is exposed. I have seen no evidence that oral HPV causes a cough. If infected by the various strains of HPV a person generally clears the primary infection within 2 years. Strains of HPV have a potential to recur at some point in the future.
