A member asked:

I had sex. assuming i have hpv in my body but it hasn't shown up as warts, can i still get the vaccine? will it help me prevent warts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Obtaining the vaccine now can reduce your chances of becoming infected by strains of HPV, 2 wart strains and 7 associated with cancer if you have not already acquired them. It can take weeks/months for warts to emerge after exposure.
