A member asked:

Can anal fissure lead to scar tissue that makes it difficult to pass stool? had issues with fissures on/off for a few months. now for last 6mos extremely difficult to pass stool. can only do while standing/hunched. if i strain i get hemroids easily?

A stool softener may help. You would not have this much difficulty in passing soft stool, even if there was scarring. You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eati
