I attended my first cervical screening at age 25. They tested for HPV only which was negative. Because it was negative they did not look at cytology. Asked to come back in 5 years. Could they have missed cervical cancer by only testing HPV status?

I had HPV test 4 years ago age 21 it was negative. 4 months ago had another HPV test it was negative also. No cytology needed come back in 5 years. Recently started bleeding between periods. Is it cervical cancer? Very worried?
