I stopped taking my birth control pill on december 1st. today on december 8th, i started spotting/bleeding. is this my period and will that mean i will ovulate the following week? trying to get pregnant. also how long will this bleeding last?

Withdrawal bleeding generally begins after "stopping the birth control pill" within a day or two of stopping the active pills. See your gyn physician for an exam and other testing, especially if there was irregular use of the bcp's prior to stopping.
