This is my first period on low dose birth control. i take tri sprintec lo.im on day 1 of the sugar pills (off pill) and im only spotting brown. can you have spotting on your period instead of a full bleed while on the pill? no chance of pregnancy

That was the period: The low dose oral contraceptive pills keep the endometrium (lining of the womb) very thin, which also helps to prevent potential implantation/pregnancy. The flip side is that there is often very little endometrium to shed at the time of the withdrawal/period, thus the brown spotting.
