It is very rare for genital herpes to cause a penile discharge. My sense is that there is no abnormal discharge here. It was most likely postejaculation secretions and/or discharge from the prostate and/or seminal vesicles. A urologist can advise you further if you still have concerns.

This doesn't sound abnormal, and herpes definitely isn't the problem. See a doctor if you notice discharge at any other time, not associated with sex or ejaculation -- otherwise, move on without worry.
