: While it is true that people who have anal sex are at higher risk of Anal Cancer, the cause is not known. Healthy anal cells grow and multiply at a set rate, eventually dying at a set time. Any stress, exposure to trauma or chemicals in stool, can cause these healthy cells to mutate and grow abnormally. This is very rare.
