You did the right thing. First make sure that your partner is free of HPV. Chances of your getting it this way are low. Best to have it checked by a Urologist.

HPV virus is contagious, and can be active for transmission in "vaginal secretions" if in contact with male genital skin. See your physician if unusual skin growths appear for accurate diagnosis.
