That depends on the germ involved. Many antibiotics will kill several types of germs. One of the better ways to be more effective in treatment is by taking a urine sample & finding which germ is there & what abx kills it best. Some abx that are great at killing UTI germs will not kill germs that cause a STD urethritis.
