A member asked:

Would it be ok to get the hpv vaccine if i have already had genital warts. i dont want it to reactivate something or make something worse as in terms of infection. it has been said it is a small protein that doesnt include the virus, just immunity?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Get the vaccine. It will prevent infection with other strains of HPV. Vaccination will not adversely affect the existing lesions. Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. For nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/. Wish you good health!
