A member asked:

I had protected sex about a month ago for my first time. recently i have been experiencing vaginal itchiness, slight burning while peeing, frequent feeling that i need to urinate, and occasional bloodshot eyes. does this sound like chlamydia?

Chlamydia can bypass condoms and the cited vaginal/urinary symptoms could be part of an infection by this agent. I can't put bloodshot eyes with it but the pattern suggests you should get screened.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson, but you cannot be too careful. A condom may not protect against HPV, Herpes, LGV, syphilis, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation. Visit this site for information: https://www.cdc.gov/std/default.htm Wish you good health!
