BV? Trichomonas?: The main causes of vaginal discharge with odor are 1) bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria; and 2) trichomonas, an STD. Both are treated with metronidazole or tinidazole. See your doctor to learn the cause, get treated, and probably tested for other STDs. (Gonorrhea and chlamydia are more common in women with both BV and trichomonas.) Good luck.
