I took my nuvaring out while having sex and forgot to put it back in. im i still protected i put it back in 5 hours later. do i need a plan b or am i still protected. should i put a new ring in or is it not necessary?

Use Plan B: The NuvaRing is a hormonal contraceptive that requires for it to be in place continuously for 21 days of your cycle and then removed for 7 days for your period to happen. It is only 91% effective. There is very little lag in the hormone infusing effect, so if you had sex then took the nuvaring out, it is possible for your hormones to have dipped enough to allow for ovulation and fertilization.
