A member asked:

My wife is suspected to have hpv, our only partners are each other. how could she get hpv in a faithful relationship?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV ?'s: HPV ois highly contagious, however may be relatively inactive (not discovered on a routine pap smear) for years. If both partners had no sexual contacts prior to your present relationship, HPV would probably not have occurred. Males can acquire HPV often without accompanying symptoms or discovery, so transmission to your partner may have occurred this way as well.
