Safe for most: Any drug has potential side effects that cluster within certain risk groups. I would assume your doctor did a review of your personal & family history, exam and testing before prescribing any medication. These procedures exist to reduce your risk. If the doc found you in the group of normal women at low risk that med would be used. If you have concerns you should discuss them with the doc.
