Recurrent UTI: Spermicides won't either help or hurt. In some women, UTIs are triggered by sex. (They aren't STDs, but sex can massage bacteria in the vaginal area into the urethra.) If sex seems to trigger your UTIs, speak with your doctor about antibiotic prophylaxis. Taking an antibiotic after sex or three times a week (whichever is most frequent) often is effective. Good luck.
