A member asked:

I had unprotected sex wednesday and took and early morning pill (plan b) early the next day. yesterday, i also had unprotected sex. do i still have to take another plan b? or what are my options.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need a better plan: No permanent harm with a few doses... but Plan B is not to be used as one's primary birth control. A normal person would not be taking it twice in a month... but maybe once every few YEARS for emergencies. One should avoid sexual contact until a primary form of birth control is begun. One may call her Ob-Gyn doctor now, to ask about IUD's which work as both emergency and ongoing contraception.
