I was prescribed metronidazole for chlamydia, 1 dose of 2000mg/oral by my gyno oncologist. should i request azithromycin or doxycycline? i tested positive but am asymptomatic and don't want to risk the infection unknowingly lingering.

Odd treatment: I see no listing of metronidazole, a treatment for trichomonas & some other conditions , that suggests it would kill the chlamydia germ. Please contact your treating doc(s) to clarify your diagnosis & treatment.
