Dr. Jose Abreu
Obstetrics and Gynecology 33 years experience
During birth: The baby can get herpes in the birth canal during delivery if the mom is shedding the virus or has a lesion. We use prophylaxis with antiviral meds a month before the baby is born to protect.
Dr. James Ferguson
Pediatrics 46 years experience
Some schedule a C-section prior to labor to avoid having baby exposed.
