Herpes and sex: Both partners should be tested to see which herpes they have or do not have. Herpes can be transmitted when there is no sores so the partners need to discuss what risks that are willing to take...Especially if they do not know where they were infected. The positive partner can also go on valacyclovir to lower their viral shedding and be less contagious.

Depends: First make sure your partner is aware so it is not spread without their knowledge. If a person has active outbreak it can be painful for that person, but otherwise there is no issue.
