A member asked:

Can ovarian cysts be treated and how so?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For prevention...: The Ob-Gyn doctor may recommend birth control pills to reduce the chance of new cysts developing in future menstrual cycles. Birth control pills contain hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle, may prevent the formation of follicles that can turn into cysts, and can possibly (but typically not) reduce the size of an existing cyst.
