A member asked:

Does hpv cause urinary symptoms such as urethritis? also does it cause sharp shooting or tingly pain? urologist well both if them said no. true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HPV in males: Most sexually active men will acquire HPV, as there are over 100 types, 40 or so which are sexually transmitted. HPV does not usually cause symptoms, but will be visible as a "wart like growth" on the penis, anal area, or scrotum. "Shooting or tingly pain" may be caused by herpes simplex virus, so ask your physician for a serum test for IgG or IgM for herpes I/II .
