I had a wart on my foot when i was a child, is this the same strain of hpv that causes cancer?

No: People with or without anal-genital HPV infections may get foot warts. The foot warts are caused by other strains of HPV, not the same strains that cause the anal-genital HPV warts or anal-genital HPV cancers.
