A member asked:

Do penicillin cure gonnorhea ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not for decades: Penicillin was once a good cure for many infections like staph and gonorrhea. However germs mutate and sometimes become resistant. By the late 1970's the strains of penicillin resistant gonorrhea had become so common that penicillin use was no longer considered a proper selection to treat such an important infection. Other medications were developed that work effectively.
