A member asked:

What are juvinile polyps? one sessile juvinile polyp was found in my rectum during colonoscopy and i was 19. i can't find much information about them.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Juvenile polyposis: Mostly inherited, intestinal polyps occur in young people. They are not adenomas and are not malignant, but may be annoying. Repeated colon exams are done because of a lifetime risk of colon cancer of about 40 %. An uncoated [usually chewable] baby aspirin once a day reduces incidence of colon cancer and is recommended for life. A larger dose is not better. Coated aspirin may not work.
