Your doc: Or a natural doc can test your hormone levels and rule out circulatory issues. Also, a clinical psychologist can teach you skills to keep from focusing on your "performance" which interferes also. Peace and good health. The psychologist or a licensed sex therapist can help w/premature ejaculation. This is not common for men your age. Cycling MAY be doing something to your prostate.

Does male circumcision effective prevention against utis, hiv, and penile cancer?

May reduce risk: Data on infant uti's in the 80's & 90's showed >90% of affected boys were uncircumcised. Much of this data was available because the infants were hospitalized. Some studies suggest a lower risk but not prevention of std's or aids. Carcinoma of the foreskin will not occur if it is removed, but the skin of the shaft remains available for cancerous change. The risk may be reduced but never eliminated.

I am a 42 yr old male, will going on peritoneal dialysis because of kidney failure affect my sex drive?

Probably: Unfortunately people with kidney failure almost universally complain of decreased sex drive and problems with erections. This is not as much due to dialysis, but the renal failure itself. Be open and honest with your doctor so they can help you through this. If they cannot, see a urologist or family medicine specialists who is used to helping people with this.

The more frequent dialysis you have, the less your sex life will be impacted. Remember that healthy kidneys work 24 hours a day, seven days a week!. Not just 3 sessions per week, as with in-center dialysis. You may want to investigate peritoneal dialysis or daily home hemodialysis (done about 5 days per week). Check out the wonderful book, "Help! I Need Dialysis" by Schatell and Agar. Good luck! LGromko MD

Can men get breast cancer, should I get tested if many of the women in my family have gotten it?

Dr. Devon Webster
Medical Oncology 22 years experience
Yes: Breast cancer in men is rare, but it happens. Men over 60 are more likely to get breast cancer. If you have a family history of breast and ovarian cancer or male breast cancer, you could have a brca mutation and should talk to your doctor about genetic testing. Men and women with a brca mutation have a higher chance of getting breast cancer and other cancers.

My male friend is complaining of nerve pain in testicle what could it be?

Hernia?: This could be a number of things, including a hernia, a pinched nerve in the back, or a problem in the testicle itself. A family doctor or a general surgeon would be the person to see and be examined by to make sure.

I am a 28 year male with shooting pain down my right arm, its not constant.. Is it a nerve or heart thing?

Probably nerve: Because of your age, the fact that it is your right arm and not the left, and because you do not mention chest pain, this is most likely caused by pressure on the nerve. This commonly occurs in the neck, elbow area, or wrist. Tests could localize the problem if the symptoms persist.
