Could be: It is not uncommon to have hemorrhoids that bulge when you push for a bowel movement. Does it go away when you are done? Read the excellent answers on hemorrhoids to see how to prevent their worsening or lessen the symptoms. If not sure, see an md.

Perhaps: Only time will tell. If the swelling persists more than a month then you should see your doctor. If pain or significant bleeding occurs you may want to see the doctor sooner.
