A member asked:

I'm having uterine contractions, had a tubal ligation 5yrs ago, negative pg test, late period. what could be the cause for the contractions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Late cycle cramps: If you're cycle is late the lining of the uterus tends to continue to thicken. As a result you may have more then the usual amount and duration of uterine cramps, which may feel like contractions. Your GYN may need to give provera to bring on your period if this continues.
