Maybe: Pcos is an endocrine disorder of hormone synthesis. Treatment is directed at correcting the imbalance. Oral contraceptives are used in some patients, as are other medications. The best treatment appears to be weight loss. See http://www.Nlm.Nih.Gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000369.Htm for more help.

Generally helps: Ocp's can regulate the cycle while suppressing the ovaries, both effects are beneficial for women with pco's. It is not likely that ocp's will have a negative impact on pco's.
