A member asked:

Had protected vaginal sex and unprotected oral sex with a girl who was bleeding, do i need to do any checkups? if so for which stds and when to do it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

STD Testing is good: The fact that she was bleeding probably has no impact on your risk of infection. Ideally, both of you would be vaccinated for HPV and get STD testing prior to sex, but if you do not know her status, then I would recommend Gonorrhea and Chlamydia testing of your throat, 2 weeks post exposure. Also blood testing for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, at least 6 wks after exposure, and again at 6 months.
