A 31-year-old female asked:

i've been with the same partner for 11 years and i just tested positive for gonorrhea and we both have been faithful how could that be?

Sexual transmission: You both need to be treated and tested for other sexually transmitted infections. Then marriage counseling is probably in order to help clear up the communication problem. Good luck.
Dr. James Ferguson
Pediatrics 46 years experience
You really know: You didn't get gonorrhea by any means other than sexual contact with an infected partner. How and when they became infected is a separate issue as it can occasionally remain without obvious symptoms in either gender for a while. It does not remain hidden for 11 or more years.

My dystonia symptoms have been stable for five years. Should I expect them to remain the same, or will they progress and become more debilitating?

Probably stable: My experience has been that dystonia gets worse around puberty. Once you get past puberty the symptoms get stable or even improve. If you got through puberty you are probably safe.
A 21-year-old member asked:

Does everyone show symptoms for gonorrhea infection?

Dr. Steven Bowers
Internal Medicine 33 years experience
No: Gonorrhea can be asymptomatic, particularly in females. When females do have symptoms, it is usually pelvic pain and vaginal discharge, which can be present with other conditions. Gonorrhea often, though not always, produces pain with urination in males. There may also be a urethral discharge. Gonorrhea can disseminate and can infect joints as well.
A 46-year-old member asked:

Will an identical twin often get the same disease as the other?

Dr. Nikolaos Zacharias
Maternal-Fetal Medicine 26 years experience
Not unless genetic.: Most identical twins actually have increasingly divergent life paths due to their encounters with various pathogens, toxins and environmental factors at variable succession and timings. Their genetic make-up may be identical, however their acquired immunity and responses to external stimuli are as different as with any two siblings.
A 45-year-old member asked:

What's the difference between fraternal and identical twins genes?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Nikolaos Zacharias
Maternal-Fetal Medicine 26 years experience
Different, same.: Fraternal (dizygotic) twins share 50% of their genes, just like any other siblings. Identical (monozygotic) twins typically have the same 100% dna profile, as if clones of one another.
