Not syphilis: Syphilis doesn't do this. No STD is a likely cause. Probably it's just a pimple or infected skin cyst. Herpes might be possible, but unlikely. If the problem continues or recurs, see a doctor to be safe.

Could be Staph: Without seeing this and culturing it it is impossible to accurately diagnose. See a doctor and have them examine you. Good luck.
