No: A Mirena IUD should not cause swelling in the vagina. Consider scheduling a follow up visit with your treating Obgyn to make sure everything is ok.

I want to get pregnant in six months. I have the Mirena IUD, which takes 4-6 months to conceive when removed, so am I better off to just leave my IUD in or switch to either the vaginal ring or the patch, to conceive faster following removal? Thanks?
