IUD's & infection: A known risk of any IUD use is intrauterine infection. due to bacterial egress up the IUD string. The greatest risk is at the insertion or removal of the device. Have your MD examine you and make a determination as to whether this is a problem or not.

No : No mirena removal is not a cause of PID ,there can be other reasons for PID,Please see your obgyn for evaluation
