Unreliable test: Chlamydia blood tests are unreliable. It shows only that you have been infected sometime in your life with chlamydia, or with a related but different bacteria called Chlamydophila. The only reliable test for current infection is for chlamydial DNA on urine or urethral swab. However, the positive IgM result suggest possible recent chlamydia infection. Ask your doctor about treatment.
