Accurate, but why?: Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is caused primarily by a particular type of chlamydia, called L2. The Quest test is very accurate; a negative result 5 months after exposure or possible symptoms is strong evidence against LGV. But why be tested? Symptoms? Partner w/ possible LGV? In the US, LGV occurs almost entirely in gay men; there have been few or no cases in women in the past 30-40 years.
