Both work: Any combined oral contraceptive will improve acne through the upregulation of sex hormone binding globulin which decreases the amount of circulating free testosterone. Yasmine has a secondary effect of competing with Testosterone at the receptor site. Specific medications for acne are often more effective than oral contraceptives for acne treatment
